Charlotte at 13
Charlotte is a “Sevie” (in 7th grade) at Canyon View Jr. High and mostly likes the transition to Jr. High. If you asked her, she’d tell you that the only down side is the homework. Charlotte is taking every available accelerated class this year mostly because all of her friends are in those classes. Among her chosen electives French and Peer Tutoring. Her favorite classes are science and band. She plays the flute and has improved dramatically over the last 6 months since she started playing. She has been teaching herself to play songs by ear (figuring out the notes from listening to the song). Charlotte really wants to try out Drama, but had to drop the class when she changed her schedule to include more accelerated classes.
Charlotte still loves being in Young Women’s at church. She is serving as a councilor in the Beehive presidency. She really loved girl’s camp and was the girl most likely to be distracted by wildlife. She spent as much time as possible climbing trees and trying to lure squirrels into her cabin. She also opted not to shower all week because they only had cold showers and in her opinion, no shower is better than a cold shower.
Charlotte loves all animals, but she is obsessed with foxes. If she had her wish, she would dress only in clothing with foxes on them. Since her parents refuse to get her a pet fox, she has to settle for petting and loving our cats. She often recovers from a long day at school by laying on her bed to pet a cat.
Charlotte loves to eat fruit. Given her choice at a buffet line, she’ll just load her plate with nothing but fruit. She also loves Chinese food and Thai food. Her very favorite food is Panda Express’s honey walnut shrimp. She decided that she’s not a fan of melted cheese and the only kind of cheese she likes on a sandwich is Swiss cheese.
Charlotte is still best friends with Alyssa and Ellie, but she’s made several new friends this year and has a nice group of girls to sit with at lunch. She says she also has a friend who only speaks Spanish. Charlotte says she uses her phone to translate conversations with her friend at lunch and she even checked out a Spanish/English dictionary from the library to help with their lunchtime conversations.
Charlotte still enjoys doodling. She draws a mix of detailed sophisticated drawings and simple funny drawings. One of her favorite games on the computer is a game called “Drawception” which describes itself as ” like the classic “Telephone Game”, but with drawing and thousands of players. Miscommunication and hilarity ensues!”
Charlotte loves to role play with her friends and has started playing Dungeons and Dragons with a group after school. Her character is an elf named Esskien who feels more comfortable around animals than humans. Her weapons are a dagger and a short bow.
Charlotte loves memes and enjoys searching for memes on her favorite subjects. Her favorite You Tubers are The Odd ones Out, Draw with Jazza, and 5 minute crafts.
Charlotte hates wearing shoes.
Her favorite show is Gravity Falls. She also likes to watch Start Trek: The Next Generation.
Her favorite songs are “Life is Fun” and “A Thousand Years.”
